Hello everyone I have a 2007 Corvette C6 and I've only had it for about 2 months. This problem has happened since I got the car but I got a good deal on it so I decided I would try to fix it myself. What it's doing is around 10 to 15 miles an hour when I make a turn and if I steer it over half way to the right or left the active handling light comes on the dashboard and the ABS brakes begin to activate during the turn in the front right tire. The brakes are literally activating and the tire skids while I'm turning it's very weird. The active handling does not come on during sharp turns at very low speeds but once I pick up the speed a little bit the brakes activate during the turn. What I did find was the wheel sensor harness had some frayed wires so I replaced that and then I replaced the entire hub assembly with the ABS wheel speed sensor on the right tire. It's still doing it. I did reset the ABS light and it has not come back on since I replaced the harness and hub assembly. Any ideas would be extremely appreciated?
How to you know the brakes are being applied to a front wheel? Does it "chirp the tire" a little when you turn that hard to the left and right to both front tires? How long does the tire actually "lock up"? Are all the tires the correct size for the car (although that usually effects traction control at much higher speeds)? What condition are the front tires? Have you considered the possibility of the "Ackerman" being off a little or the Ackerman being OK and just crossing slick spots in the roadway?

Scan for codes with a scan tool and NOT a code reader…see what DTC’s you may have.
The brakes lock up on the car is how I know the brakes are being applied. It's like the ABS it locks up the tires kids for a fraction of a second releases locks up again etc. And it's only when I go over halfway steering to the right or left side it doesn't matter and when you're steering in any direction and apply the brakes.
These cars have a steering wheel sensor on the steering column. I have seen other posts/threads on here where there has been a problem with the sensor and it causes the Active Handling to activate. Seems like some have just unplugged it to cancel out the AH. I think there is a recalibration for it also. The fact that it only happens @ 1/2 turn leads me to believe the sensor position is off. Do a search on here for threads on this.

If you have a telescoping steering column it is very likely that the circular steering position sensor is dislodged and hanging freely. It is a black ring that is placed on the column. I had this situation 3 years ago on my new to me 2011 C6 A6 base 'vert with 4 K miles on it. That produced the exact symptoms that you are describing. You can easily check this by removing a lower dash panel and looking at the column under the dash with a light. Most recommend removal of the column to reinstall the sensor correctly.
The problem with these cars is that sometimes a set code is not definitive, it only leads you in a general direction.
My sil's '08 had a similar problem and it turned out to be the electronic part of the abs unit. He replaced it with a used part from a junk yard and it now works well. Some members posted that he would have to have the new/used module programed, but it did not need to be.
I recently had check engine and abs/traction control lights on dash of my '09, and it turned out to be a bad injector that caused #3 cyl to misfire. The sparkplug looked terrible so I replaced all 8 and the wires. Mostly, no change. I replaced the injector and the car now runs very well. No codes.
So, the point is, sometimes the problem doesn't seem to correlate with the codes.
