Default Airbag light

I have an airbag light that I am having trouble diagnosing on my 2006 base. I have an LT1, was upgrading it with a HUD installation (which was successful), and injured the clock spring wiring when removing the steering wheel. I had a resulting airbag light, so I have replaced the clock spring with a used part.

I have continuity in the wiring when checking by color from the pink and grey airbag connectors down to their respective wires at the airbag harness clip under the wheel. I also have continuity when testing between the connectors by this method (
). I believe that should mean the clock spring wiring is intact. The horn works.

The airbag harness is clipped in securely below the wheel, the pink and grey airbag connectors snap into the airbag, and the yellow CPA clips snap in as well (they are full length). Each of these seems to be a unidirectional clip in part.

I can start the car, clear the code, and it recurs immediately. The code is "Driver steering wheel air bag deployment loop low resistance."

Am I missing something? Does anyone have clarifying input or direction on a next step? Thank you.

Triple-check those CPA clips. "Deployment loop low resistance" means a short across the airbag initiator. The clips push the built-in shorting bar out of the way. The bar is there to prevent accidental deployment of an unplugged airbag.

TorqueTube,

I did as you suggested and pushed the CPAs in a little more after the plastic pieces clicked. The problem resolved. It is hard for me to imagine that the repair was that simple or that they would need a little snugging once already clicked, but it worked. Thank you.

I appreciate your help.
