Default VCX Nano help please

I did a search for my problem but couldn't find what I'm looking for. For the past couple of years I've used my lap top and VCX Nano with Tech2 Win with no issues, until now. I somehow picked up a computer virus that slowed down my system to the point that I had to re-install Windows 10 Pro 64. Now that my computer is back to normal I have to re-install the Tech2 Win software. I'm not computer illiterate but had a hell of a time getting the software to work back then. Now that I'm ready to do the reinstall I find the VXDiag shop down loads very confusing. Trying to follow their loading instructions but the instruction file names aren't the same as the download files? I don't remember having to load a patch and also had no issues down loading what I needed. I keep getting a warning of a dangerous download using Chrome so I was probably using Firefox back then and it didn't care. I know I need to disable virus protection for the down loads but had no trouble activating it after the programs were installed. Maybe old age is setting in and I'm screwing this up. Can anyone please simplify this for me so I can get this up and running? I don't want to reload windows again!
Thanks in advance.

VX manager install to begin with, and watch for Defender blocking the install with pop up from it (do not disable defender, leave it on, and if you see Defender trying to block VX manger install, then go into defender by clicking on the pop up from Defender, allow the file its blocking to run on the machine in defender, then go back and fresh install VX manger again from the start.
Note, latest XM manager is V1.8.9.0601, so if you don't have that version, down load if from VX to install it.

With VX manager installed, and Defender not blocking any of files so it runs correctly, Now go into VX manager, update the firmware and the license of the Nano.

With that completed, now install Tech2win, and remember to leave the Nano connected and VX manger open during the Tech2 win install (machine will tell you not to do it this way, but needs to be done this way).

Once you have tech 2 installed, the go back into VX manager, click on Diag on the top/auto on the left, then install pass through-GDS2/T2W-SGM RDS in Vx manager.
Now go back to top left device tab, click on config and change the connect from auto, to usb (nano). Once you make this connect change, VX manager is going to restart, let it, but after that, shut the entire machine down, and let it reboot.

As for vVX Nano Licenses, the certs expire about every 30 days now, so when you go to use the Nano again, get into the habit for first checking to make sure that license is current and if not, then just click on the license icon again, to update the license.
If you have a older nano and it will not update the license, then send VX an email so they can extend the Nano license time frame to indefinitely for free (just include the serial number to the Nano in the email).

Dano
Thanks very much for the information. I downloaded the VX Mgr 1.8.9.0601 zip (I had to get into chrome flags to allow it)

Update: I emailed VXdiag shop and had them send me the latest software. All I have to do now is install it.

Further update: The Tech2 win and gds2 software loads a Trojan Win32/Tiggrelrfn with a severe alert level. Obviously it was there from the last time I used the software. Are you aware of this and what are your thoughts?
Thanks
