so i have a A&A procharged 2007 c6 that recently started flasing me high voltage service vehicle soon maxc speed 80mph shocks in op abs light traction light the whole thing going haywire hud would go away and radio off and headlights all would go away after a few minutes or after turning on and off happened sparsley at first then more frequently finally it fried the altinator i replaced it and the new one is now pretty much cooked only pushing 9v and battery is almost dead previous owner had the procharger installed at 50k miles now currently has 78k and appears to have only become a recent issue what should next steps be PLS HELP first time vette owner thanks in advance
So where are you seeing 9 volts ??…at the battery with a DVOM, at the alternator or on the gauge ??
I used my meter on my altinator and grounded to the battery also I drove it around the block and didn’t gain any charge and at idle according to the gauge cluster display and my craftsman companion app I lost voltage from the battery it went from 11.3 down to 10.8v
If you are checking voltage at the alternator and seeing low voltage sounds like a bad alternator….when checking alternator voltage it’s better to use the alternator case as your ground and not battery ground…the case has the lowest ground “potential” when the car is running.

Thanks for the advice also I can smell the altinator burning as well as my buddy did to while driving next to me tmr I plan on replacing the battery and seeing what happens and then if it doesn’t hold it charge going and replacing the altinator agains as the one I purchased has a lifetime warranty
also I’m not sure though still what caused it to burn up the first time I took out the battery and cleaned grounds today they didn’t seem very dirty though also I’ve looked the belt over and nothing seems amiss there
If the alternator voltage is low it’s not the battery…it’s your alternator.
do you have any idea what would have caused both altinators to over charged the first one literally burned I opened the hood and a puff of white smoke came out and it was severely blackened this second one I can smell it burning and the coils are blackened a little bit
the one that was in the car when I recieved it I’m not sure where it came from I’m not sure what brand it wasI do know the one I bought was from O’Rileys and was also an ultima
