Are you using the speaker outputs from the radio or does everything go through an amplifier? If amplified you need a ground loop eliminator (maybe multiple depending on your setup). If you are using the speaker outputs then check all of your grounds.
I also have the reverse light issue because mine are led, radio signal is non existent in reverse. However he says he has static even with no volume… is it like radio static or is it interference from the alternator? I can’t get rid of the whine with my kenwood ddx headunit, makes the car sound supercharged in videos

A lot of radios will mute the audio when you go into reverse.
Have you installed ground loop isolator(s) on the RCA lines? (I assume you are using amplifiers and not just the speaker outputs.) If you have you can try NOT grounding the isolator (ask me how I found that one).

In my case it just loses radio reception, volume remains the same. Not sure how exactly it’s wired but we used the metra harness on my non bose system to work with the factory amp (had a friend who does installs).
