My wife pointed out to me the other day that the passenger side taillights were blinking sequentially when I used the turn signal, but the driver's side lights were blinking simultaneously. I checked the bulbs on the passenger side and found the inboard bulb looked like it had a burned filament, but the outboard light looked fine. So I replaced the inboard bulb but the passenger side taillights are still blinking sequentially. Is there something else going on here?
There’s a plug in sequential device available should you desire it. It was on my 2006 and I removed it quickly after purchase. It’s not all that impressive with two lights.
I have no personal experience with them, but just did a quick search. Apparently the harness with the delay installs on the outboard taillights to make them look sequential. You wouldn't have seen it when replacing the inboard bulb. https://www.vette-lights.com/product...xoCbEgQAvD_BwE

I removed that intermediate module with the red cap. There's a small circuit board underneath the red cap, but no switches or anything. I have no idea if it was meant to control all 4 lights or if the previous owner had no idea they needed two. In any event, they're all operating normally now.

No, it wouldn't have controlled both sides. When signaling, it just ads a delay on that bulb to make it look like they're sequential. Did you check the driver's side outboard light?
