2006 C6 LS2 6 Speed. Started acting funny a week or so back. At a stop light the car started off fine, then went into low power mode and would barely run. Restarted and it ran fine again. Today after a car wash the car horn came on and wouldn't turn off. I shut it down and restarted it and the horn stopped. A few hours later I left work for home. The car stalled out. It wouldn't restart. The engine clicked but no turn over. I sat for a minute and it started and got me home. Now it is stuck in the on position and i cannot tur\n it off. I had to disconnect battery because the switch does nothing.
Brand new battery. I did install LED Taillights. I disconnected them and the car still has same problem.
Could it be the switch itself? Any help is appreciated.
Even though you have a new battery the first thing to check is if it’s fully charged and if you get the car running is it being charged by the alternator…if you don’t have a DVOM and basic electrical skills find an auto electric shop in your area to take the car to…it’s not a blown fuse so you will have some electrical diagnostic work to do…some of these no crank issues are sometimes network communication issues which are way to complicated for a DIY’er and even a dealer tech to diagnose…if you have a factory level or equivalent aftermarket scan tool see what trouble codes may be present.
The battery is brand new and i put on a charger overnight. Shows full charge. The charging gauge shows 14.1 volts when running. I read a bunch of posts and decided to get a new switch. Only $60 and mine was looking worn and old anyway. I will be here tomorrow so ill update then. If that doesn't work I have a Chinese tech II and will check codes.
I watched a video that showed 14 reason your C6 won't start. One of the options was a bad fuel pump relay. I swapped it with another one and car started right up. I'll keep the switch I bought until I drive it around a few days before returning it.

You mentioned the engine would only click and that is not a bad fuel pump relay…it would be a crank no start.
You are raining on my parade. LOL. There was no crank just weird clicking. Now it seems fine I took it out and ran errands and all was fine.. I'll be driving it tomorrow and Sunday and will update if there are any problems.
You may have another issue brewing to keep your eye on. This happened to me. Luckly I watched this video prior to it dying on me a friends house and I knew to press down on the relay to get it to go.
Hey my 2005 had a very similar issue, especially after a car wash or a heavy rain. Horn only working intermittently, horn going off when turning, and randomly dying on me. Turned out to be a clogged drain pipe on the windshield cowl drain
If you notice after washing your car the passenger footwell gets damp this could be your issue. I pulled and cleaned mine out and viola no more issues, it was clogged with all kinds of detritus. Mine got bad enough it ended up killing my blower motor, thankfully I caught it before it fried any other major components.
Worth a look at least. The drain pipe is tucked away on the passenger side, if my memory servers in the engine bay.
I've had really weird window issues when my BCM was getting soaked from the same reason as above. It was pouring and to stop my car from rolling down windows, I had to pull the battery after rolling the windows up...
