newbie here and was rebuilding the torque tube on my wife
2005 and noticed the middle plastic piece on the tube drive shaft is worn about 3mm on one side. I know its only sevicable with a new shaft so my question is will i have problem if i neglect this?
Going to be fine, and its a isolation ring as the bearings wear out, so middle of shaft will rub the rubber ring to inside of tube, not allow the shaft to off spin more to put shaft itself into ID of outer tube or twist warp enough to allow the shaft to flex collapse with enough torque to it.
If you have a long enough lathe, then could spin up the shaft to just face the isolator to re-true it slightly smaller, if the car is going to live it life out as rev ranger and that slight amount of balance weight is going to make a diffidence in TT vibration.
