Default Technical Dry Sump Oil Change Question

2010 Grand Sport Coupe Manual Trans. I just changed the oil and followed every step. 10.5 quarts, let the oil heat up to 175 degrees (oil temp, not coolant temp), turned it off, waited 10 minutes……the oil level was right on the middle dot in the middle of the cross hatching marks range on the dip stick. Is this to allow for expansion should the oil get much hotter than 175 degrees? The owners manual warns about filling above the acceptable range. OR should I be adding a little more oil?
So, to be as clear as possible, am I looking to fill to the middle dot (at 175 degrees) or the top dot? The worry is that if the oil gets hotter than 175 degrees and it’s filled to the top dot, it will expand more and cause it to be overfilled. Or am I overthinking this?

You're overthinking it. You're in the perfectly acceptable range at 175° with a short wait.

I always try to shoot for the middle dot with my 2011 GS with the dry sump. So you are good to go.

But anywhere in the range is just fine; bottom dot, middle dot, top dot.

I also shoot for the middle dot @ approx 175~200f.
This translates to almost the top at say 240f (on track), so you don't want to go higher to avoid some of it getting sucked into the intake.
