Default Buying a Tech 2, would like advice

It's time to buy a Tech 2 type device to use with my 2009 base car. There are so many posts out there concerning there devices! I'm considering the one in the link, but am hoping you guys will give me some advice on it or better units on the market.

https://www.vxdas.com/products/tech-2-scanner-for-gm

Thanks!

Having it tethered with a cable is a pain plus your thumbs will get sore from pushing all those buttons...I haven't used mine in a couple years ...I'd go with an Autel or Launch which are Bluetooth and if you have other cars which are not GM these would be a better choice...your call !!

you can’t use these to turn off magnetic ride control like with a tech 2 right?

I haven’t done one yet on a C6 but many F45’s on the C5 and I’ve done some on C5’s with my Autel…so can access the BCM with an Autel as you can with a Tech 2 to “deselect” F55.

Which Autel scanner are you using? I have a 906BT and didn't see any options to get into the BCM. Maybe with an Ultra??

I think the OP was looking for a less expensive option??

I currently have the MS909 but if his budget is $300.00 he should just buy a clone Tech 2…so you’re saying you can’t access the BCM with the 906BT ??…you would go into BCM-Special Functions- BCM Setup if I can remember…I don’t have the F55 on my 08.

Thanks. I didn't see any obvious option and never considered trying to do it? I just use the VXDiag Tech2. I'll check it out and post back.

UPDATE: Tried to access the BCM setup and got a locked message? No problem using the VXDIAG though.

I bought a clone over a decade ago they work great. I couldn't access some things with my other nice one. Forgot the brand but probably the same ones most use. I thought all the tech 2 clones are all the same.

what can Tech2 do that ICON cannot?

Thanks for the replies. I'm not hampered by a budget, I'm looking for a device that I can communicate with the various modules and change settings if needed. The previous mention of deactivating the F55 option is a good example. I'm a retired EE and worked in a technical test environment for many years and am very comfortable with with cool test toys. Any other suggestions? Thanks.
