Both are loss of comm with the BCM…what module or modules are saying they can’t communicate ??

If you look at the high speed bus the ESC and EBCM are both downstream of the VCIM (Onstar) and if you just removed the fuse and not the 1 connector that contains the 4 CAN wires at the module itself I would expect those 2 modules to communicate with the BCM…also I would expect a no comm with the ECM which is last module on the high speed CAN bus…why was the Onstar fuse removed ??

I installed a alpine head unit and the steering wheel controls for phone are a problem i only removed the fuse no need for onstar. These. Codes are gone for the moment. Except the radio nav which was removed.

Default Well putting the onstar fuse back seems to fixed it.

Don't think there is a way to disabled the onstar and not cause this

One can remove the 3 Onstar connectors and as long as you jumper the 4 CAN + and - wires together which are the tan wires on the connector on the right that is the only way to keep communication past the VCIM.

So if I pull the black plug and jumper the black stripe and the no stripe wires can i pull the fuse then? And can i leave remaining plugs into module? Also i do still occasionally get the u1000-13 digital radio error. This car has gm5-11 module with alpine 770 head unit.

Pulling the fuse just depowers the VCIM…the CAN network wires are still going to allow communication…why are you pulling the fuse ??…the radio is on a different bus…the class 2 serial data network.

Because the phone button on top left of wheel I can hold down and get google to start while driving. But if fuse is in. The onstar which has no connection to phone company comes blasting in super loud. I don't want it to do that. My alpine works awesome without onstar being on. Also i do still occasionally get the u1000-13 digital radio error. This car has gm5-11 module with alpine 770 head unit.

Looks like you edited your post saying car wouldn’t start and you had a bunch of Comm codes.
