I have a 2007 C6 base. I think I need new shocks. 48,000 miles on the odometer.
I bought the car in May of 2023 with 33,7xx miles on it.
I'm told that shocks can go bad due to age and decaying rubber parts inside them even if the vehicle has low miles. What are the pros and cons of: B6/B8 Bilsteins, coil overs, or factory GM shocks? Should I consider other brands?

It depends on the type of driving you do and the ride you want. If you just daily drive or cruise, then B6's will offer a comfy ride. B8's are more firm - for more spirited driving or for lowered cars to minimize scraping. I installed the DRM version of the B8's for an even more firm ride for track days. I didn't want to get into coil overs and the DRM's have been working great for me. I drive to & from the track and don't feel like they're too firm for normal driving either.
Bilstein B6's are a huge improvement over the OEM shocks. The ride and handling were much improved on mine, the stock shocks only had 30K miles and no leaks.
