Check Engine Light and Service Active Handling/Traction Control
Hello everyone,
As the title says I got this CEL + Service Active Handling and Service Traction Systems messages.
Backstory: driving normally, got the 2 service messages, car started running a little rough but not too uncomfortable to drive the 10 minutes back. Next day it happened again, this time I was close to the garage so I restarted the car and turned off traction control just to see what would happen. Drove about 5 minutes until CEL came on together with the other 2. Stopped in and in 15 minutes started driving back to the garage. After I started it, I started to smell raw fuel and the CEL started blinking. I limped home and got P0202 and P0300.
Now, browsing the forums and youtube, I did some routine checks and nothing has fixed it so far. Here is what I have done:
Swapped injectors 2 and 4. P0202 stayed. Interestingly, the error went away and I test drove it 5 miles until I decided to turn off traction to see if that would trigger the CEL. It did.
Cleaned the plugs on injector 2 as there was some liquid inside.
Checked fuses, spark plugs, coils.
Cleaned battery terminals and the grounds bellow the battery + all the other ones in the engine bay that I could reach.
I did not check the pins on the ECU connection as the space in my garage is tight and it would be a pain to do it.
Now the weird thing is after cleaning the grounds, I cleared the codes, started the car and immediately the service messages came up. This has never happened before. The car idling okay, and then I decided to rev it a bit. As soon as it reached 2000 rpm, the CEL started blinking.
I checked the battery and the voltage is low so it is due a change. I ordered a new one and will get it tomorrow. I am stumped and would appreciate any help.
You will always get the TC message when you have a misfire and most cars these days do the same thing…the P0202 is an injector control “circuit” DTC so it’s not something like a clogged injector…could be a bad injector, injector wiring or even a bad ECM…the blinking MIL is a cat damaging misfire do you don’t want to drive the car and be dumping fuel into the cat and damaging it…not knowing how much electrical diagnostic experience you have I won’t get into the troubleshooting aspect of this…if you have no experience find an auto electrical shop in your area…this is not a “ground” issue…as a new member it is ALWAYS a good idea to let us know the model year as a minimum since not all C6’s are the same.

You said you ordered a battery, my cousin 2013 Corvette brought on tractions control, and asked him how old the battery said almost 4 years, told him to replace, he did and no more problems.
Be sure and also have your alternator tested to make sure it can adequately charge your battery...like others have said, these cars are very finicky about low battery voltage.
