I have never had problems with Kooks either, but neither ARH.
ARH specifically says their collector design can make it a smidge tighter than the other guys, but the clearance is a non issue.
Mine are 1.75 though, so maybe that helped me.

It's very subjective honestly - some like wrap, some like coatings
If you're going to do it, I'd have them coated by Swaintech but that can void some mfg's warranty.
I've ran my ARH headers bare on my C6Z for many years with no issues. Would definitely recommend shielding the starter while you're in there
