As I am doing my winter projects, I was going to replace the factory motor mounts. Is this something that is recommended? I do think they are going out, but didnt know what is the best to go with.
I was considering after market mounts a few months ago and found several threads on this C6 Forum on that topic. There are multiple after market options available that look well designed, but most folks posted they prefer to stay with brand new OEM mounts. But it depends on what you use the car for.
This summer I installed Vibra-Technics #CHV100M motor mounts on my 2006 Z06. They have been described as one of the more moderate semi-rigid aftermarket motor mounts. As it turns out, they allow too much noise and vibration for my tastes. Next spring I will be going back to new OEM mounts.

Any advice is welcomed
I had some of the short Hinson polyurethane motor mounts in my GS for a couple of years. Worked very nicely and were not terrible with vibration in the cab.
However, I eventually did get tired of the vibration of the Hinsons and replaced them with some new stock motor mounts.
The best combination of performance and comfort is a set of new OEM motor mounts.
if you're bother by NVH then stay as close to oem as possible and don't got beyond Hinsons MMs
if you care for it like me then go solid everywhere and let the back shots begin
I've got: AMT MMs / LGs DIFF solid mounts / Solid Torque tube mounts and a big cam so you feel everything

Can confirm, I have AMT motor mounts and diff/trans mount, ECS Torque Tamer, ECS diff/trans brace, DSS carbon driveshaft with solid couplers and ceramic bearings and heads cam on my Z06. She's got the vibrations haha.
Not as worried about the NVH, since the cam already rocks the car LOL. Just wanting something better than stock that help stiffen it some, without ever worrying about losing a filling HAHA
It seems like for the cost, and not sacrificing to much, the Hinson seems to be the best choice.
