Default Priming oil pump question

Hey y’all, I have a 2009 Z51 and I just finished a cam install. I went a little overboard as it is 100,000 mile motor and ended up doing lifters, a timing set, and a Melling high-pressure oil pump along with lots of other supporting modifications.
As I was finishing up, I realized that I haven’t primed the oiling system yet. I still have the plugs and injectors off. So my plan right now is to crank it over with the plugs out until I see oil pressure.

would I risk damaging anything doing this or would I be OK? I did use a good amount of assembly lube while installing everything. I also have an oil cooler that would need to fill as well.
thanks in advance for the help😁

priming is better, but if you used plenty of assembly lube it's probably fine. Millions of engines have been started up without prelubing. Last engine I helped with, I meticulously lubed the engine with a pressurized container I made up only to have a big electrical problem and the owner didn't actually get it running for weeks. Who know if all of the lubing helped in the long run.........

No risk of damage but; Make sure you disconnect the fuel pump relay. You don't want fuel spraying everywhere with the injectors off. Not sure what you meant by injectors are off. I assumed injectors are not installed.
