Default Tech2 Expert Question

I had asked in general forum but still not quite sure till I ask here or find out for myself in Spring.

I bought a New FOB from GM to Replace my FOB1 I have FOB2 which is working Perfect. My FOB1 sucks so replacing.
I really don't want to go through Long Procedure as Owners Manual Spells out, or with some of instructions in Forum. FOB1 and FOB2 make use of my Memory functions in car as you know. FOB Slots 3 and 4 don't.

I want to and I'm thinking that I can use my Tech2 and delete FOB1 and Reprogram New FOB as FOB1 leaving FOB2 in place.
Could a Tech2 user let me know if possible? I would not ask if weather was warmer and would just hook up tech and see for myself but here in NE car is covered and in my Carport, no heat no bob! lol

You can select FOB1 as the one you want programmed with the Tech 2...the most important thing is to make sure the ignition is OFF during the procedure with the Tech 2 and at the end make sure you press the UNLOCK button on the new FOB per step 8...procedure from Service Info below...car covered in a carport ??...that sucks !!

Oh yes going too follow your instructions for sure and to the T, Thank you! But dang that really surprised me and easily could of missed, as I did 1st reading.
Have you had to do that for any other diagnostics's on C6's? Wonder how many miss that step and fail!

That is the only procedure I can think of with ignition off and yes you can still use your scan tool with ignition off but you have to manually enter the VIN...there are modules you will not be able to communicate with this ignition off method.

The leaving in Reverse and Engine OFF, I'm thinking is because of replacing Working FOB with New FOB. But no Clue! LOL

It seems I dont delete FOB1 from car first, I'm Just Reprogramming/Over Writing Original FOB1 with New FOB(1) to the originals location.

So I'm not counting the 5 minutes scratching my head!
I noticed GM Sent me Imprinted 1 on Key FOB, which is the one I replaced so that worked out cool.
