Default Small Part Identification - Front Wheel area

2007 Base Coupe 3LT Z51

Had it on the lift to replace Evap Vent Valve Solenoid.

Walking back to the bench I see this clip/bracket next to my wooden ramps. (so I can get the lift arms under the car)

Does anyone know its location? I've been searching parts diagrams and Google Images for a long while. No luck.

I've encountered a front rattle lately while driving and wondering if in the engine bay and eventually fell down. I was guessing the rattles are my sway bar links though.

Rulers for scale. It's apx 1" tall, 3/4" wide.

I found it on the floor here...

Appreciate any clues. I've been looking at right front for a match, a lot of web browsing, parts diagrams....no idea.

I'll have photos of the vent valve solenoid replacement in a later thread, with why it failed, and what I did to help prevent future failure.

Rich

I don't recognize that but I also have to replace the evap vent solenoid. It looks like on mine I may have to drop the exhaust. What did you do to prevent future failure?

More I think about it, it may not be from the car. Maybe just a rogue piece that I kicked walking around.

When I pulled the vent valve solenoid I tested it on the bench with 12v. No draw, no click, open circuit, infinite ohms on my meter. It was dated late 06. Original. Car built Nov 06.

I disected the solenoid. Microwire from one pin to coil open.

It's directly above the right exhaust pipe. I suspect heat at idle over the years reduced its life. Just like A6 shifter bushingsl at the driver side right above the left pipe.

Years ago I wanted to heat wrap the left pipe. I did both sides yesterday while on the lift. Time will tell.
.......
Vent valve directly above right pipe. Harnesses also. That large connector has wires without heat dissipation wrap.

A6 shifter likage bushing directly above left pipe. I replaced that bushing 5+ years ago after it failed miles from home, stuck in reverse. I jacked the car up and put it in fwd gear and drove home.
