Long story short, my revs were jumping up and down, I replaced maf with Delphi and cleaned throttle body, did the same thing. Did idle relearn and it fixed the idle. It idles perfectly now, but now when driving the rpm’s will sometimes (if not all the time) stick at 2k rpm and won’t go down unless I go back into neutral. This morning it didn’t mimic this behavior till the engine warmed up. It idles perfectly and only does this weird behavior while driving:
it has a new Delphi map and maf sensor.
I was thinking throttle body next but they are so hard to find oem comparable ones for a good price so wanted to see if anyone else has ran into this.
WHERE did you buy this new MAP and MAF sensor ??...if Amazon or eBay that may be your problem...every time you change a sensor it should be checked with the appropriate diagnostic tooling such as a factory level scan tool or labscope...new doesn't always mean it good even if a real OEM part...this can possibly be a vacuum leak...I'd be looking at live data with a scan tool if you know how to interpret what you're seeing...if you don't have a scan tool take the car to a diagnostic specialist and not a general repair shop or dealership...they only guess too.

thanks. I got ordered them from a parts house they are all Delphi parts.
I’ve driven it twice and it seems to be improving. Today it really didn’t do it at all. The only thing that seems slightly different is engine deceleration/engine braking seems to take longer in 1st and second gear. Is it possible the ecm is just relearning how to behave?
