I have a 2005 LS2 4spd Auto, I am having an issue trying to add aftermarket parts to add horsepower. The only thing that I want to do at this point in time is add a 102 throttle body and a Fast LSXR Intake Manifold. However, when I add those parts to the car, the car goes into limp mode even when I go to get the car tuned. Is this a parts issue, or am I missing something?
All thats done to the car now is an exhaust, CAI, and a can-tune
Try it with stock TB? I added a LSXR to my '05 with stock TB and all is well. Made 340/340. Yes post which code. I sometimes get an evap one not sure if that is related to intake tho.
look at stock TB and note the direction that the vane opens. Now check 102 throttle body to make sure vane opens the same direction.
C6's used the gold vane units, that the vane opens in the opposite direction of the silver units.
As for changing in tune, H tuner or EFI live will solve that one, as well as tuning the car in the end.
And just a FYI, the stock TB already outflows the motor, so your not going to pick up any hp with the 102 throttle body n a stock motor.
As for fast intake, of the few HP you will pick up on a stock motor, and the fact that you need to deal with fuel rails as well, hell of a cost per dollar to HP in the end.
Truth is, just retune and turning off TM, will pick up more hp/seat of the pants power, that you will fast intake on stock tune.
What trouble codes do you have stored if you're in Limp Mode ??
I don't remember which code(s) were being thrown, I just remember the car would idle at 400-600 rpm, and then kill itself, and when I tried tapping the throttle, the response from the throttle was really delayed, and barely moved the rpms.
