Default New balancer - keep or return? Pics

I saw a guy make a FB post on the same thing, ironically it was the same balancer, so I thought I would ask you guys on here about mine. I ordered a Powerbond race spec balancer and it came with two different scuff marks on it. It’s not bent but it is scuffed up and I’m concerned it may damage a belt. Should I return it or file it down some and paint it?

I too would be tempted to smooth it out and go with it, but you paid good money for a brand new part so I think the right thing would be for you return it for replacement.

I agree, that’s what I’m leaning towards.

If it were me, I would return it. You paid for new. You should get new. Or a substantial discount on the damaged one. But it’s such a pain in the *** to change it, do you really want to risk it?

Yeah very true. If it were an easy part to change I’d prob risk it but I just submitted my return request so hopefully the next one is in good shape. If not I’ll be buying it somewhere else

With all the bad luck you've had in the years with these casr. If you question it, return it. You lost enough sleep over many these issues. tNow your questioning a part to installin. You probably couldn't even sleep anymore thinking about that dampner if you installed it.

Buddy you know me too well and we’ve never even met!
You’re 100% right though even if I used this damned one and never had any issues it would still bother me. Sending this one back and hoping for better luck on the next one.
