i was thinking of a normally closed push button switch that could used for instant turn off. But, will it come back on within ~2 seconds?
any c5ers try this?(i may want it off in 1st gear, but on after that)
Re: active handling temporary abort switch (Matt Gruber)
Every time it's kicked in I was doing something wrong. I'll leave it on. Have you checked to see how long it takes to initialize? Then of course you have those days when it's "warming up" If you are going in a straight line, what harm is it doing? If you're not, don't you think you might need it?
Re: active handling temporary abort switch (Matt Gruber)
We have bumps in the Michigan roads. I have found with the traction control off it doesn't cut the throttle when it feels a skip from a bump when I am accelerating from my street onto the highway. I have almost gotten rear-ended by that feature when I most need the acceleration that I bought Corvette for in the first place. I drive with it off most of the time for this reason. I drove all of my previous cars and Corvettes without traction control... oh wait, they didn't have it!
Re: active handling temporary abort switch (Rocketblock)
they seem to make improvements every year, so i hope it works good on my smooth roads. AH is a major reason for upgrading from my c3, it gets sideways sometimes on a WOT 1-2 shift@56mph and the last time it jumped clear into the next lane

Re: active handling temporary abort switch (Matt Gruber)
Active handling and traction control are two different things. If you hold the traction control button down a few seconds you go in to competition mode. I competition mode traction control is off but active handling is still on.

Re: active handling temporary abort switch (TheDarkKnight)
I'm referring to a road course. I'm sure a true professional does not want nor need it. I'm not and I admit I can use the help that active handling provides. As for turning it off as was mentioned at the top, indicates a straight line take off, not somewhere that it's going to affect you. He would be better served disabling the traction control so he could get the proper slip for max acceleration.
