Z51 vs F55
Hi,
I have a C6 coupe on order, right now with F55 selective ride. I would really like the Z51 package, but I live in a large city, and am afraid the Z51 might be too hard a ride around town. I was hoping some of you folks who have C5 Z51s could share your impressions with me. This will be my daily car. Is the Z51 too stiff for everyday city driving, or would I be crazy not to get it?
This has been covered in a number of other threads; but to summarize with my bias, the F55 has experienced very expensive repair problems. The C6 Z51 is vastly improved over that offered for the C5 and, at least from my perspective, you would be doing yourself a great disfavor in opting for the F55 instead of the Z51. Just my opinion.

Re: Z51 vs F55 (HiloVette)
Thanks for the information,
Sorry for asking about a subject already covered, but I'm new to the forum. I've been looking around for other threads on the same topic, but haven't found the info I was looking for.

Two Different Suspension Options
Thats the point. The F55 Selective ride is a separate suspension package option from the Z51 package. You can't have both..., you must choose one or the other. Even if they did let you "mix" the two so-to-speak, doing so would dilute the purpose of each individual suspension package.

This is answered all the time. Again, it is a little stiffer than the base suspension, but not at all harsh. Even my mother in law likes the ride.
In my opinion, the C6 Z51 rides as good or better than the base suspension C5. It is more of a performance package than a suspension package. The C6 has a longer wheelbase which may be partially responsible for the improved ride. After borrowing a Z51 C6 Vette for a day, I decided to switch my order from F55 to Z51. If you are worried about the ride because you live in a big city, my "test drive" was in the Detroit area AKA Pothole City to give it the acid test. I even posted a thread about the Z51 package listed below.
