Do you think the tire sensors on the C6 are the same as on the C5? I would hate to have to replace the sensors in my CCWs. I would rather just swap the wheels out.

The C6 has different sized wheel diameters and will most certainly have different offsets. The RFA system is very likely totally different than on the C5, due to the new keyless FOB system. My guess is your wheels, tires and sensors will all not work on the C6.
Also, GM made a rolling change even on the C5. '97-'00 and '01-'04 have different RFAs, FOBs and Tire Sensors. This will probably give you some idea that the C6 system will be totally reworked.
I don't think there will be many if any C5-C6 parts swapping. I remember Dave Hill stating that most of the parts won't interchange.

I hope you're wrong about the offsets. I can always replace the sensors. Before I bought the CCWs I had asked John if he knew anything about the C6 wheels. While he could not be 100% positive, he had seen the C6 and thought the current CCW 505's would fit.

If the offsets are different, that will disappoint lots of C5ers moving up who have expensive after-market wheels that they wish to bring along.
By the way, I believe that the off-sets between the C4 and C5 were not changed, why would they change for what is esentially the same chassis. Well, let's hope the off-sets on the wheels are not changed.

I'm planning to mount my BBS "LM" alloy wheels on my C6. Maybe the guys at The Tire Rack could shed some lignt on this.
I have a 2003 C5 coupe and also a 2004 XLR...I can't see any difference in the sensors . I purchased 4 additional ones for my Foose lusso Chrome wheels..When I pick them up I'll know if they are the same...I also know the offset is 45 on the C6 and XLR. My thinking is a good swap....
[QUOTE=wwashing]The issue is whether the offset for the C5 and the C6 are the same. Not the C6 and the XLR?[/QUOTE
Considering the C5 and the XLR are the same and the XLR is built in the same plant as the Corvette, it only seems to me that the offsets on the C5 would be the same as the C6. Also, The Suspension on the XLR is the same as the C6. Your point is well taken, I'm only offering information.
HOWEVER. One thing to consider, especially for CCW 505s. The Z51 is going to have bigger rotors and calipers. The way CCW gets the deep lip is with the spokes curving out, then back in at the outer lip. I think it is possible that the 505's for the C5 may not fit over the calipers.
I hope I am wrong, because I'm hoping to put 505's on my C5. Anyone called John yet to see if he has been able to get his hands on a C6 for fitment? <<edit>> Just noticed in the post above the John has "seen" a C6, but not tried to fit. I'd still be concerned about clearing the new calipers on the Z51 version.

I guess we're all also hoping that the C6 Z51 brakes, calipers, and rotors will bolt on the the C5!
From the information that we have (which is limited, like most peoples), our C5 505A packages should be transferrable to the C6 cars. Our 19" wheels shouldn't have a problem clearing the Z51 packages either.
The one thing that GM never emphasizes to its customers when it comes to tire sensors is that they will eventually not work (i.e. battery dies). Of course when will that happen?...Will they fail all around the same time? Probably not...but it's not cheap to dismount the wheel/tire and replace a sensor. Imagine you just replaced the tires and then a week later one sensor goes...then a couple of months later another goes, etc. I guess the only solution is for GM to state that all sensors should be replaced at the same time at the 5 year mark (similar to those who have timing belts in their cars...the automakers tell you should replace them at 80K miles or whatever their engineers recommend).
