My experience on another gm vehicle - 1999olds 3.5 liter V6
When the pump goes it must be replaced -on the Olds price just under $200 . Finding it on a vette is another problem. On the Olds had to remove left front wheel and inner skirt -no big deal. do you know what it looks like? It is not belt driven. It came off easy on the Olds but identifying was the hard part. If you have access to tech manual it make it a lot easier. Rest assure it not a critical part. Its function is to inject air on inital start fo better pollution control. It never runs for more than 50 seconds. When you find it and remove it you will see its a cheap plastic piece with a small motor attached . Way over priced. May be available in aftermarket for vette -not on the Olds. good luck -let me know how you make out.
can anyone...tell me why i keep geting a po410...code...secondary air injection .....malfunction...help!!!!!!!!!
My C5 is throwing this same code. Dealer said it is ok to drive the car and next time I bring it to him he'll most likely just repalce the pump. Under warranty for me. Car runs fine, I just reset the codes when it re-appears.
GLENM 27- Can you reset the code on a C5 without an OBD 11 Diagnostic Tester ? I agree the pump is not critical . See my previous thread. When GM changes the pump see if you could find out where its located on the C5. It would be a help to others who may no longer be under warranty. Thanks in advance.

Yes you can clear the codes yourself with no special tools. I've even done it while driving.
After the DIC Scrolls through all the codes,
it will go to Manual Diagnostics mode.
When the screen displays "manual diagnostics," select the desired module by pressing the "options" button to go forward or the "trip" button to go back.
Press "gages" to go forward or "fuel" to go back (through each module).
If you want to erase or "clear" codes, press "reset."
To exit the diagnostic mode at any time, press "E/M".
man-you guys just saved 200 bucks for an OBC tester -.its built in. My 73 had nothing like that-come to think of it-there was no computer-BUT easy to work on-Can't say that about todays vett. Can't wait for my C6-with built in tester-Anyone want to buy an OBC tester----Only kidding -Can still use it on my OLDS and CAMRY!
