Default Corsa Exhaust for C6

Did anyone else notice in the new Corvette Quarterly that Corsa is already advertising a system for the C6? I wonder if anyone has spoken with Corsa to get some information on how this exhaust sounds compared to their C5 system.

I have never been much of a fan of the Corsa's. I prever the deeper, throatier sound of the Borla Stinger or B&B Bullet. I do like the Corsa quality, though, and if they come out with a system more like the Borla or B&B I would be very interested. And I'm going to want to replace the exhuast within about ..... oh, lets say one day of when I get my car.

I am going to bet you aren't the only one who is going to replace that fast, either.

Hey, thanks for the response. Good to see that someone else actually checks the C6 Tech section every once and a while

Jim, I have a theory that you can't get the low pitch / deep sounding exhaust (for the C5) without resonance. The Corsa sound is a little higher than most but to my knowledge, it's the only one with absolutely no resonance. I will likely be putting a Corsa system on mine. The construction qualty of my Corsa system is also higher than the "other" brand I had and the tips stay aligned as well. The other system would not stay aligned.

Hey, I read the tech section.

Mike - I suppose there is some truth to that. But for me, what little I get with my Bullets does not bother me. I'm hoping to get something that sounds like the Bullets - but I won't wait long. I can't live with the stock exhaust

The C6's I heard at the museum last saturday. They were absolutely dead quiet. Too quiet for a sportscar!

since the mufflers go straight back you can use a couple of glass pacs.

Does the C6 exhaust really sound that bad that you are going to change it out right away?

I have not heard one, but I do know the C6 exhaust at least does look good. Unlike the C5 stock exhaust tips that are horrible in my opinion. They are just like the Cadillac tips

Glenn, I have the Bullets on my current car, which are regarded as being among the louder aftermarket exhausts available. Even a Corsa Indy exhaust is quiter than I like. So, yes, I will have a hard time living with the stock exhaust for any length of time.

Does anyone know, are the C6 mufflers the same as the XLR?

Listened to a C6 while the engine was running, had a ride and drove one, and it's almost impossible to hear the exhaust.
Would love to put a pair of flowmasters on the rear. It was back with my 92' when I had a Vette that sounded good (to me). The 97', 00', and 02 ZO6 I could never get to sound like a nice deep V8 Corvette. Tried many exhaust systems too!
Maybe this will be our big chance!!!

I talked to Corsa about a C6 system last week. They are working on one now and I won't be surprized to see it available sometime in the fall. It will give the car a more noticeable exhaust sound while maintaining Corsa's standard of no resonance inside the car.

Thanks for the input, Tom. I bought my Bullets from you when they first came out. When my C6 arrives, I may be in touch with you again

I would bet that the stock exhaust meets the strictest noise requirements anywhere - ie Switzerland. Why do you think most Ferrari owners immediately yank the stock exhaust and stick Tubi's on them?

Of course vette owners are more like harley people - the louder the better

I currently have the B&B Triflo on my 02'. Not really too loud. Have a nice rumble when you pounce on the gas. How loud do you think the Corsa would be? Annoying? Also, does anyone know if by changing the exhaust will that decrease the HP output? My friend has a speed shop so I can dyno before and after but would like to get an idea before dropping 1000.00 on a system.

Thanks
