can the C6 nav/stereo unit be installed in place of the C5s stereo????
Ive been looking for a nav unit to install in my Z06, but I want something that will look stock, and will not entail cutting up my console trim piece. The C6 nav/stereo looks about the same size as the C5 stereo....will it fit?? And how much does the unit cost?? Any info about the swap would be much appriciated. Thanks

if you could get the c6 nav radio to fit in your z06-I doubt if it would cost only $1400--Thats the price installed in the c6 and takes into consideration the give back of the 6 disk bose unit!

no unfortunately, I just finnished up the first part of flight school flying the Beachcraft T-34C. I ended up doing pretty well, and had jet grades, but unfortunately, there were no jet slots available the week that I selected, so I will soon be moving back to Pensacola FL to fly helicopters. Ive always wanted to fly Tomcats, but they took the last class of Tomcat pilots about a year ago.

I believe that the entire back bone (framework ) of the dash is the same or very similar. I would imagine fitting it in would not be an issue, if you could properly fit the other C5 electronics that go in that area (i.e. climate control etc..) The electronics are another story as the C5 never came with it. As C6vette stated, the cost would probably be prohibitive also as I am sure that GM will charge a fortune for the unit over the dealer sales counter.
I was a little dissappointed with the package thing, and you either buy that package or not get some of the things that you want.

yea, Im having a hard time finding a flush mount screen that I can fit in the stock stereo location and then run an external nav unit from the trunk. If anyone knows of one, that would be very helpful.
