C6 HUD technical questions
Hi,
Does anyone know the following:
Does the C6 HUD unit use the same interfaces (hardware and software) as the C5 HUD?
Does the PCM communicate the various sensors' data to the HUD (directly or through the network) or does this data come straight from the individual sensors (either directly or via the network)? And, is this design/implementation the same as in the C5?
Does the C6 HUD have the same physical dimensions (as far as installation) as the C5 HUD?
I remember reading somewhere that the C6 uses a new data transmission protocol and/or data format than the C5. I haven't been able to verify if this is true or not.
Can any GM techs shed some light on this topic?

I think everything on the C6 communicates via a totally different and much more advanced bus, called CAN. I doubt the interface is easy to get into, at least for now. I can't answer the other questions.
