Default Procharger install

Does the installation of a supercharger like Procharger harm the base engine over time? Does it void the GM warranty (I know Procharger offers a product warranty but what about the base LS2 engine)? Thanks!

Any added stress will cause an engine to wear out sooner. Your warranty owners manual will state the guidlines for what is covered and what is not covered. In most cases though it will fall upon your dealer for the judgement call on if it should be warranty.

Since you currrently can't put a tune on the C6, I'd stay away from anythink like a procharger.
Water Injection is an alternative. Won't need a tune for that either as the C6 runs lean. Did a scan of my C6 the other day and saw that so I'm going to try WI. It looks very interesting.

I just researched WI, interesting, keep us posted if you install it.

Will do.
Just ordered it today. Got EASE software working now on the C6, so I'll be able to track what all goes on at speed.

Forgive me here if I'm a little naive.

I use WI on my turbocharged Calibra, here in the UK. It's used extensively on turbo'd cars as the boost pressure rises. Either to cool the intake air or cool the pistons (mine is the latter).

What application is being used on the LS2?

the issue with forced induction on the LS2 is that the compression ratio is 10.9 to 1 which is pretty high, so the compression would have to be dealt with (reduced) to even make forced induction an option. If a blower were added with that much compression it would blow something.

Probably heads and cam are more stealthy, the dealer would have to really dig to find that the heads or a mild cam are in there vs a supercharger or turbo that sits in plane view.

Not necessarily. I come from the 350Z community, and lots of guys over there are supercharging or twin turbocharging their 10.9:1 engines. The little 3.5L V6s survive because they pull timing and richen up the A/F ratio enough to prevent detonation. I don't see any reason why the same techniques wouldn't work on the LS2. Note that because there aren't yet any cracks for the 04 ECM in those cars (same as with our C6 engines), they're using the Emanage piggyback to pull timing and increase injector pulse duration while leaving the ECM alone.

No doubt you aren't going to hide a supercharger or turbocharger from a dealer service department. That's a major mod, but it *may* not void your warranty, depending on what's broke on the car, and how the dealer feels about mods. But frankly, if you can afford a twin turbo setup, you'd better be able to afford to replace a blown motor.
