I got in my (GM's) C6 for the drive home from work and the nav/stereo display was dead. The stereo was stuck on CD and I couldn't change the volume or turn it off. I tried turning the car off a couple of times but it didn't help. I also tried changing the DIC option to not automatically remember driver preferences and that didn't help either. I tried a search and didn't find anything, anyone have a clue? Thanks!
If you can re-create the problem...take it back to the dealer and have a new head-unit installed. There's no need to keep fighting the problem, get your dealer to help fix it.
I don't have the Nav system, but my HU would not startup. I eventually hit the "Eject CD" button and it came alive. Pulling the fuse was my next option.
I'm going to pull the fuse if it is still acting up this morning. I won't have this car repaired, not worth the hassle when I'm getting a new one on Thursday

there is a dealer bullitin that the "eject" button may stick in and cause problems. make sure your "eject" button is not "cocked" and stuck part way out.
Its also possible that you had the screen turned off...although this doesnt explain the volume. Try hitting the talk button and say "screen on" If that doesnt work i dont know...no probs. with my nav so far kow
