I have 3k miles on my car & so far have had to add between 1/2 - 3/4 quart of oil. What is strange is the oil is really black. A friend said this could be excessive blow-by & I should take it to the dealer. The DIC says 76% oil-life remaining.
I received the free-oil change/lube service & thought about having the dealer change the oil/filter under the agreement, but reading the fine-print, it states that they will only do so when the DIC says to.
Mobil 1 darkens pretty quickly. That oil consumption figure isn't out of line either...if you want to read in detail about Mobil 1 from a user's perspective check for 'Bob the Oil Guy' on google and there is extensive commentary on oil there...
I think I have right around 2000 miles and have added two full quarts of mobile one during the "breakin" to keep the level at the top of the crosshatch area on the dip stick. I check this after it has been shut down for awhile. The first quart was shortly after picking it up so I thought perhaps my courtesy drop off guys didnt fill it all the way but now it was down again. I am going to start a closer record of the consumption. Car runs great to me. the oil color is darker than when it went in but didnt seem bad, still has good clarity. Sounds like you are fine. I have wondered about breaking a motor in with synthetic but I have faith GM put what they thought it needed in it, and I am just an old guy who used to have this fancy break in routine which is no longer needed.

Until the rings fully seat you'll get blow-by, which causes the oil to darken quickly. Wait till you drain it and see the metal flakes, you'll freak-out. That's normal too. Oil consumption is normal with any new engine until all the parts fully seat. I’m at 75% oil life @ 3,100 mi. I plan to change it next week. Everything you mention seems normal. Have a nice Holiday.
