You be better off on drag radials (BFG DRs or M/T ET Drag Radials) than actual slicks. And no the clutch (and even the rear) might not appreciate it much but your time slips might.

Give Cartek www.cartek.net a call, they have a lot of experience with clutches, rears and simply modding C6s in general.
I don't know for sure what difference they would make, but my guess is that on a six speed car that is otherwise stock, probably no more than 1 or 2/10ths. They would make a bigger difference on an A4 car with a stall.
