Plus where do you draw the line on power???Like $$$$ there is never enough...
Exactly. Picture this. You’re tooling around and some Mustang GT comes up along side and punches it. You’re at 35 in 5th gear. With 400 HP you’d have to down shift to 2nd. With 500 HP, 3rd and a stomp will probably be enough. JMHO
For the hardware this Z06 offers, it can't be beat especially for the money. I also don't think the benefits are limited to the track; that LS7 will be felt no matter what you are doing along with the suspension setup. I don't think this Z06 will suffer the fate of the ZR1. I remember shopping for the C4s back at the time and the difference between the LT1s and ZR1s wasn't great enough to overcome the price difference as great as the ZR1 was. This Z06 is a bigger animal and the market today will value it more than the market back in the 90s did for the ZR1. I think Chevy thought this through well enough not to repeat that mistake again. Plus they have been listening to all our bitchin about a factory 427; now it's time to put up!
TORQUE!! You guys keep talking 500hp, but the torque is what is going to make you smile with this package!! Imagine how much more area is under the torque curve compared to the LS2.

Having had a 99 and 00 FRC C5 and now an 03 Z06, the difference between the non "Z" cars and the Z was night and day. And this was jumping from 345 to 405 HP. It was more than the HP, it was the overall feeling the car gives to you. I would never knock another vette, but the difference is going to be staggering.
Several years later, and with an even greater difference in power, handling and appearance, to my way of thinking, there is only one car if you can live without a vert - the 2006 Z06. It looks to be an amazing car for a reasonable price, be it 60 or 70K.
And when we get the monster, how many of us will still mod it for even more?!! It's the Z06 mentality and I think Chevy knows what a depraved bunch we are!
