Default VaraRam Snake Charmer Corvette

I just called Steve at Vararam about this package and I have to say that it sure looks like a winner! Here is the link:

http://www.vararam.com/snakecharmer.html

They are currently testing it in the wind tunnel for aerodynamics, but this package looks amazing to me! I think that it really takes the car to the level that GM really should have. What do you guys think??? Some things that Steve told me to expect with the car:

Stage 1 Car: (Supercharged Version is also going to be available)

Exterior:
Hood with heat extractor vents for headers & radiator (also with a 2" rise to clear a supercharger)
Flared Z06 fenders (not illustrated in picture)
Front / Rear Aero Mods

Powtertrain Performance:
VR-Snake-Charmer ram air system
VR/ATI underdrive crank pulley w / alternator pulley
VRX-2 throttle body
VR Crank case scavenging system
VR billet valve covers w/ coilpack relocation
VR vented race shroud
Full Header / Midpipe / Catback Exhaust

Suspension / Brakes:
Lightweight rotors and hats, custom built for VR.
Penske adjustable shocks w/ VR spec road race swaybars, lowered 1 inch.

Interior:
Custom Conally Leather Seats (take your original seats and redo them with Conolly leather in whatever design the customer wishes)

As far as the rims and tires go Steve said that they are still deciding on how to handle that, but they are leaning towards making it an option. They also said they are only going to making a maximum of 100 cars per year, with each one having its own unique serial number. Pricing for the package has not yet been finalized but it will be within the $14,000 range for the Stage 1 that I have just explained here. They have been going through extensive wind tunnel testing with the car, and they are shooting for a zero lift situation with a mild to moderate level of downforce to keep the car more stable at higher speeds. They are even experimenting with changing the shape of the headlights of this thing! Photos of everything should be released sometime within the next month or so, and the car is sceduled to appear in various Corvette magazines, as well as in a Tuner Shootout from a magazine (I forgot to ask which). Anyway, what do you guys think, since I think I am going to be putting a deposit down, because I LOVE the looks of this thing!

The numbers, price, and upgrades sound good to me...although i dont know much about the company. But for me personally im more into the sleeper look (im not really interested in all the visual upgrades on the exterior). Wonder if they can make personalized packages for a lesser cost without some of the body kit?

snaketr: it's interesting that you say that (and i would def say good eye for things, although i assure you I am not in any way affialiated with Vararam, although I wish I was bc then I could prob get a nice discount)...i was acctually thinking that myself when i typed it about how i prob sounded like a sales rep or something from them. but in all honesty i am not, and i really just saw the ad in a corvette enthuisiast mag, and i called about it like i said, and then ended up on the phone with the sales rep for over an hour talking about things with the kit, as well as some other interesting products they are working on. the reason that i guess i sounded like that is that i am so excited about the package, but i really am just looking for opinions (i mean this is a seriously expensive thing to do, and i am interested to hear what you all have to say about likes and dislikes, and maybe i can forward some of the ideas to vararam since they said that the package is not yet finalized) so please keep them coming.

Will I would think I would stay with a reputable builder. I mean the only thing they we saw in the ad was a drawing not the car. Remeber Cerra Racing, I think I would stay with Lingenfelter or Mallett or just a company that has more history behind them before you drop thousands in performance mods. Imagine the guys that spend the 5K plus on the Cerra racing turbo and now what do they have.

Just remember now that you are already starting with 400hp so you're paying $5k for only 80hp. No thanks.

I think you should really do your homework. A supercharger without a intercooler and no mention of any head modifications on a engine with 10.9 compression? Unless you are running this car really fat with very little boost you are you had better buy a whole bunch of head gasket sets and etc..... I do not see the advantage of the supercharger .... as of yet the LS2 edit is not out so you can not tune this engine! To safely run high boost you need low compression 9.0 or less and a fat tune. You already have 400 HP and a supercharger with low boost is not going to be cost effective (to little HP per dollaar spent). Wait until the LS2 edit is available and watch what other guys are doing that works and then go an play....... Just my two cents

Don't know much about the package, but I didn't see any mention of a supercharger in that package, other than the fact that the included hood would clear a supercharger. They did mention a supercharged version would be available.
