I am planning to use the C6-Z06 mufflers (when they are available.) I like the idea of built in 3500rpm cutout. Does any one know if that door is mechanical-ie no electrics or just just pressure. I am planning on using the Kook's headers and the 3" cross X pipes.

The explanation I heard was that the valves are operated by vacuum, but the signal that switches the vacuum on and off comes from the computer. That's necessary because the valves are only supposed to open above 3500 RPM, so it needs a tach signal to determine when to act. The computer on the regular C6 doesn't provide that signal, but I suppose you could switch the vacuum manually.

Interesting. Where are you going to get vacuum above 3,500 RPM, or specifically, when the throttle is open? I can't think of any place on an engine where you'll develop significant/consistent vacuum at full throttle.

Same place you get the vacuum for the power brakes.
