Default LS2 technical specifications thread.

It would be nice to have all of the LS2 tech specs in one thread for those of us who give a crap.

As people correct me or provide more info, I'll update this first post so that it's all together in one place.

Here's what I have:

4 inch bore
3.62 inch stroke
Flat-top piston
6,500 RPM redline
90mm single-blade throttle body
2 inch intake valve
1.55 inch exhaust valve
10.9:1 compression ratio
Intake port 210cc
Chamber 64.45cc
555 CFM induction
SFI
.525 Intake valve lift
.525 Exhaust valve lift
117.5 Lobe center angle (cam degrees)
121 Intake centerline (crank degrees)
204 Intake duration (crank degrees)
211 Exhaust duration (crank degrees)
19 ATDC Intake valve open @ .050
43 ABDC Intake valve close @ .050
42 BBDC Exhaust valve open @ .050
4 BTDC Exhaust valve close @ .050
1.7:1 rocker ratio
4.4" bore center spacing
4 bolt main caps with two horizontal cross bolts
Deck height: 9.24 inches (234.57-234.82 mm tolerance)
Con Rod length: 6.1" (154.94 mm)

What I want:
Head gasket bore and thickness (compressed)
Block length
Intake port CCs
Chamber CCs
Ignition timing (advance/retard)
Intake plenum design
Exhaust header diameter
Exhaust collector diameter
Muffler inlet diameter
Muffler outlet diameter
Anything else you can think of

Bore centers and block length. This and your info will make a good comparison to the LS7.

Thanks for the link. I've seen it before and it's the source of some of the data I listed in the first post. I don't think I missed anything, but I may have.

I just wish I could get definitive information on the stuff I don't have.

Default camshaft specs incorrect.

What you listed was the 2004 Z06 specs. The cam used in the LS2 is the early 385hp Z06 cam Lift; .525 intake and exhaust. It would be nice if they did use the later cam. Here's a inexpensive option: I tested a LS2 spring, and with 1.8 rockers you bump the cam to .556 lift intake and exhaust. This gives you 100lbs seat pressure at an installed height of 1.80, and 300lbs at .556 lift. With .065 to coil bind. Cheaper than a cam change. Should be good for 12-15 RWHP. Jessel rockers are about $700. You would need to check pushrod length. Stock 7.4 might work, but you might need a shorter length.

Pistons are 40.40 each (includes the wrist pin and retaining o-rings)
Rings are 17.81 each
Rods are 76.43 each

those prices are from Fred Beans last month, youll have to check with him for a current quote.
im not sure what the "over the counter" price is from a GM dealer.
