Default Chirping sound

My 09 Z has developed a chirping sound. It has almost 38k on it and it's a HCI car. I replaced both belts and still chirping. My harmonic balancer is wobbling but I'm not positive it's wobbling more than it should. My question is the harmonic balancer a problem on the LS7? If so what's the best replacement? Anyone else had this issue? Also will a wobbling harmonic balancer affect the way the car runs? Thanks!

Post a video with decent sound - it could be a failing lifter / cam lobe.

Yes, LS7s have the same 2 piece GM design HB as other vettes that come apart and wobble.

ATI or IW make nice upgrades. You want to get it fixed ASAP.

I'm running ATI and haven't heard of any issues with them. It shouldn't visibly wobble.

Mine developed a chirping sound a few months ago. Went straight to dealership the next day and it was a bad lifter that had already damaged a cam lobe.

Yep, Mr. Jean here in our section just had that exact thing happen to him too. It was covered under warranty, as was mine- which was discovered recently when the heads were being dealt with. In my case the noise hadn't really started yet but a lobe was starting to go and the lifter had just started to show that the lobe was going to take it with it. Got lucky.

As mentioned by Les above, I had a problem that started with a chirping and then got worse real fast.
Here a link for the story. Good luck, hope it's something simple.

Default Chirping after starting until car warms up

My 1998 (38K miles) chirps until I drive it 15 minutes or so. I’be read a lot about the wobbly dampener, and I believe mine is wobbly, but I don’t know if it is within normal range. Here is a link to a video (I zoomed in closer towards the end of the video). Does my HM look like a problem?

Do I still need to take the belt off if the chirping stops when I spray water on the belt? It also stops chirping after I drive it for awhile and it warms up. I also put some white paint on the pulley so I can keep an eye on whether the rubber on the HM moves.
