New Corvette Owner
Hello Everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself here. It's always been a dream of mine to own a Corvette and the dream recently became a reality.
I've been lurking these boards since before the New Year soaking up knowledge and it really helped out during my search. I've always been a GM guy and my previous garage queen was a 25th Anniversary Trans Am that had some work done to it. Life has taken me to the point where I was able to upgrade and finally get a Vette. The evolution of my search was pretty funny. My wife and I originally thought, "let's get a high mileage C6". That evolved into, "Let's get a low mileage C6". That evolved into "let's get a high mileage C6Z06" and finally we agreed to get a lower mileage Z06.
We finally found our car. A 2006 Victory Red Z06 fully loaded with Nav. It had 19866 when I bought it, now it has 20325. Bone stock but it had the plastic door sill covers and Cover King Neoprene Z06 seat covers. I didn't particularly like the seat covers so off they came.
Not alot of mods yet. I've replaced the headunit with a Kenwood DNX773S and added front and rear cameras. My MGW shifter arrived today and I've got a Halltech MF103 on order. Heads are scheduled to be done along with possibly a mild cam in the next month or so. I got my window sticker and build sheet from the NCM which is very cool.
I just wanted to say thanks to the community as this board helped me research and make an informed decision on buying a Z06. The car is an absolute blast to drive and both my wife and I absolutely love it.

Congrats and welcome to Club Z.
Presonally, I would have focused on checking the heads before doing anything else. You are potentially at risk, you are well into the common failure range mileage-wise. Whatever you do, don't put this task on the back burner; we don't want your next post to be a sad story (and your wife pissed because you now own an expensive paper weight).
