The below is all just my opinion... I am not an expert, just giving my thoughts.

If you look at sites like Autotrader and cargurus.com, then you will see similar milage 2014 2LT cars priced from $49,000 to $60,000 at asking price.

If you look at the GM Supplier Pricing, you can buy a brand new version of your car for $57,453. Granted, it will not have the aftermarket stuff you did to your car, but I don't think those additions are items you can expect to charge more for in the used market (my opinion, of course).

If you look at KBB.com, your car should sell for about $52-$54,000. You could probably get about $50-51K if you traded it in.

Again, my opinion here... but the 2014 cars are currently overpriced for a car that is nearly 2 years old. The fact that sellers are asking the same or more for a used car that buyers can pay for a new car is more than a little insane to me. Now that there is no longer a tax advantage for buying from an individual (in most states, anyway), I just can't understand it. Dealers start taking orders for 2016 models this month & they will start delivering this Summer. There are new colors & special editions that may entice 2014 owners to upgrade. That combined with cars coming off of 2 year lease periods will probably lead to a flood of 2014 cars becoming available late Summer, early Fall. I think there will be a big drop off in 2014 pricing when this happens.

So, that said... It is my opinion (not a professional by any means) that 2014 owners are in a peak selling time for their cars if they want to maximize the sales price. But, that window is closing fast.

Warranties are pro rated and refundable. PITA though, but worth the refund. Takes several weeks, usually 6-8. You may want to check Gap insurance also, if you have it. Gap insurance is also refundable. Talk to your dealer finance department.

My comments are not directed at this particular seller.

Ultimately most sellers on this forum aren't really sellers at all and they say as much in most of their posts. They don't need the money, it's just a spare car, and they will sell it if they can avoid suffering any real depreciation. Being in the motor vehicle business but until recently not having been familiar with Vette pricing, I find it insane and funny at the same time. 2 year old, commonly available vehicles being listed and occasionally sold for what anyone can buy a new one for. Then you add in the hassle and expense of going to pick up your used car, etc.. Well it's just goofy. But listen, as long as people are willing to pay these prices, well that's capitalism baby!

Used 2014s are not 2 year old cars right now. They are appraised as 1 year old cars until mid-August when 2016s hit dealerships and 95% of new 2015s are sold. Camrys are commonly available, C7s are not. However, I've not seen any used 2014 C7 sell for so high a price it's the same price as an identical new 2015 model.

Car looks great....I am interested...Understand you don't need to sell, but I believe you can get this ride under 50k if you look hard enough.

We may be able to work something out if you can go lower. I'd have to fly to come get it. Send me a PM.

Thanks!

I agree completely with you.The 2014 C7's that you do see for sale over
90% of them aren't on the lower price end.It seems the owners don't want to get off it at the lower price. Can't say as I blame them.

I wonder if many of these people bought when there really wasn't a discount yet on these, cause I agree, I've seen many asking prices on the level with discounted prices on brand new ones.

BINGO. For the most part folks that bought 2014 Stingray's paid at or near MSRP, then within a year folks could buy a 2015 with discounts as high as 12% off MSRP. A co-worker got 12% off MSRP on a 3LT coupe and it was an ORDER not sitting on the lot collecting dust.

Don't recall previous generations where by the second year GM/Dealers discounted so deeply.

So the early adaptors are taking it in the shorts and it's only going to get worse if GM hopes to keep sales in the low 30/high 20K region.
