I follow you on the appearance/wider stance but I think the Z51 also comes with dry sump.

Yes, that was my point exactly, sorry if it got lost in translation. They are both dry sump motors, so I'd take the GS appearance over just the extra goodies of the 3LZ.

Park them next to each other and ask any human being which one they are attracted to.

Heated and color matched seats/dash, honelink, memory.....not so fun.

But really thats just your opinion. There are different ways to look at it.

2LT is where its at with the creature comforts vs price. 1LT for DD duty just doesn't cut it IMO. Also for DD duty the wider car will be harder to park, offer little to no performance difference on the street, cost more to maintain with wider tires and bigger brakes. If your going for a 1/4 mile car, the GS will also be a touch slower in the grand scheme of things.

If your wanting a track toy or a weekend warrior that looks crazy, a GS is the perfect fit. If you plan to put 20-30K miles on a year and do a couple track days a Z51 with a nicer interior seems to be a smarter choice.

If you want the wide body, don't care about maintenance cost, and want to do track days while riding a cannon. Get a Z. If you want a GS or Z with nice interior, by all means get it. But dont think "this one looks coolerest" means its the best car for what you actually will use it for.

Agree with all but the parking. Mirror width is the widest part and the same on base and GS.

I am in the market for a 2LT. Will be what I get even if GS 1LT is same price as base 2LT.

It's nuts isn't it? People are asking 35 for C6 grand sports - I couldn't see myself paying over 30k

Asking versus getting is two different things.

This has been my exact experience. Corvette Owners are quick to tell you how much all of their dealer options cost then go ask for ridiculous numbers.

sorry if you paid 65k for yours, never gonna get it back.
Wait till the C8 comes out, and then it'll drop like a rock. You'll get them in 30's.

Read the reviews...it's been said quite often by the automotive press that the grand sport is the sweet spot in the lineup.

I'm seeing leftover grand sports new at 54 grand...

That's an amazing value.

To spend 35 on a used 2014 standard corvette is not the best choice ...

Better to extend the loan a year or two if you are borrowing money at today's low interest rate andjust get a brand new one...

The preowned pricing is not as competitive as new car pricing these days...

Yeah, prices have definitely jumped up on C6s and C7s.
I was looking this time last year and could find many C7s around 35K. 2LTs, maybe one or two 3LTs.

But now, you are lucky to find a 1lt C7 under 40K.
What the hell is going on? lol

Just within the last 2 weeks, the prices have jumped. There were 12 cars that sold under $36,000 on my favorites tab. Most lasted only 1-2 days or on cargurus, ebay, or facebook. Hoping to get lucky though

Default 39,750

Well you may be looking for a 1lt , but I can guarantee that there is not 1 single vette on the market that looks better than this for under $39,750 . New wheels new tires , only 14k miles on the car it’s a 2014 z51 3lt it is well over 20k more than a 1lt mrsp. Just looking for a quick sale so I can get a red z06
