Default 2018 GS or Z06

I want to order a 2018 GS or Z06. I need to nail down the order configuration; and have some Order Configuration Questions.

What is the Difference between:

PN 84090834 Hood stinger stripe Package, Carbon Flash $250
PN 22989107 Hood stinger stripe Package, Carbon Flash $250

What is the difference between:

Battery Protection Package $100
Battery Charger $125

Can I special order Z06 Opt: Q6B 19" front/*20" rear, Chrome Plated Z06 wheels on a Grand Sport?

How can I get Carbon Flash Upper rear quarter vents on a GS?

Until I figure this out and sell my C5, I am not ready to shop prices yet.

Thanks for any help.

84090834 replaces 22989107

you can buy the Z wheels separate through service and install them but not with the car. i.e. you would end up with 2 sets of wheels and I am sure they will cost $$$$

Carbon flash upper vents are standard on the coupe, you pay to get them body colored

battery protection package is what you want. The battery charger is an accessory option not a RPO.

I have been doing some wheel research on After Market Wheels and have decided against them. The really good ones are way more $$$$ than GM and I would not feel safe with the cheap ones.

So I guess I will order standard wheels; and buy GM Z06 replacement wheels, if I go with the GS.

My only problem is finding the part numbers for the Z06 (Q6B Option) Chrome Wheels. I tried searching for hours; but GM must not want to sell them. I called a GM Parts distributor and he would not help without part numbers. (Nothing goes easy!).

Default Difference between p/n 84090834 and 22989107.

Hi, I just purchased a 2018 Grand Sport, Watkins Glen Gray with the Adrennaline Red interior, 2LT and A8 a few weeks ago with 9 miles on the car. I just installed the Torch Red Hash Marks last week. Only thing missing now was the Stinger Hood decal. I was trying to find out too on what the differences were between the two part numbers. Like the other member said before, 84090834 replaces 23989107 on whatever GM part sites you go to. They both say Carbon Flash. BUT...... I ordered the 84090834 and it came in yesterday. Did research on how to installation and it came out perfect just like the hash marks. Using the wet method (dishwashing soap and water with the felt squeegee). It’s not Carbon Flash, it’s the Satin Black decal. I think the code for the Carbon Flash is (DNE) and the Satin Black is (DUR). I couldn’t find the code on the GM box it came in but after looking closely it says Hood Stinger-SAT, not Hood Stinger-CRBN FLSH. So the SAT is short for Satin Black.

I was a little disappointed at first after the installation because I was wanting the Carbon Flash Stinger Hood decal to match with the rest of the Carbon Flash trim pieces. But I have to say, the Satin Black Hood Stinger, looks really really nice! Has some contrast with the Watkins Glen Gray. The Carbon Flash trim pieces kind of blends in with the Watkins Glen Gray. If you look at the Grand Sport Collector Edition (Z25), it has the Satin Black (DUR) stripes, not the shiny Carbon Flash (DNE) stripes. Looks good and mean!

Default Layla2018 Congrats

Congratulations on your New Corvette.

Don't you just love it?

I just got a 2017 Grand Sport and drove it home from Dearborn MI.

It was a great trip home.

My previous questions are no longer an issue for me.

I got the Blade Silver without the Black Mirrors or Hood Stripe.

I have decided to get the Hood Stripe and Mirrors painted like a friend had done.

It is going to cost a bit more; but the wife approved the expenses.

Thanks for the post, and I agree that the more contrast will look better.

Thank you and congrats to you too! It’s an amazing and beautiful car I’ve every owned. Right now it has 107 miles on it. I waited 12 long years to buy this. Almost bought a C5, then decided on the C6 when they first came out instead, backed out on the deal the last minute. I promised myself I’d get one someday. Just took a little longer than expected but it was definitely worth the wait!!

You're right. Still learning this awesome forum. I had to deal with Hurricane Nate while putting the Satin Black Hood Stinger on this past weekend and before that was Hurricane Irma when I was putting on the Torch Red Hash Marks. They both been keeping me from driving my new Grand Sport and that's why the low mileage of 107.
