Default For the meth heads

Debating on going with either a flex fuel setup or a meth kit. Don't know enough about meth so I need some input. What is a good kit to run on our cars? Will I see a good power gain by running the meth kit? Worth the money or just stick to flex fuel? Or both?

Thanks

I have a Meth kit on my pro charged 496, 68 Chevelle. Big, Big Bang for the Bucks.
I probably won't put one on my Z because you would probably need a tune.

Don't mind getting it tuned. It'll have to be tuned for the lower pulley anyways

Alky Control makes one of the best meth kits. Power will depend on how much the tune is pushed.

I like meth a lot, but given the choice if $$ isn't an issue E85 is the far superior choice. You are not relying on a secondary system to supply the needed fuel and to keep timing up.

And.. as an added bonus, the added HP is very substantial when you dig into your throttle.

I have both on my car. Not sure what your setup is like, but I have the 32% cam lobe, LT4 injectors/pump, e85 conversion kit and Alky Control. That along with the ECS 1500 kit at 13.5 psi makes around 860rwhp.

My plan is to revert back to NA next year and just run e85 without meth.

It's not either or. If you are going to run FI on the C7 with anything over a base base kit then you are going to need meth. using ethanol is going to make you rely on meth even more.

Read your list of mods and appears you're not supercharged. I've not see many if anyone running meth just for the sake of adding a cooling factor and more octane. I suppose it would have a positive effect if you dyno tune to match the timing curve with the meth. I know the kit is designed to turn on with boost but I suppose Julio could customize it to turn at when zero vacuum.

Maybe someone reading this thread has seen a NA C7 with meth?

There are NA cars that run meth but it's not generally considered worth it.....In that case I would just run E85 or maybe E50 mix with a DSteck Flex Fuel Sensor kit.

THere's a turn on **** on the back of the controller where you can set it to come on at whatever voltage from the MAP sensor that you want.

The problem with doing that on an NA setup is you need some kind of RPM window switch. If you don't have one, then when the ignition is "on" but engine is off.. it will be at atmospheric pressure and that will turn the meth system on.. so you need something to only let it come on if the engine is running.

For the money to what you get to last on the car. This is the only way to go with a meth system.. Robert
