Default Picking a meth kit

Does it really matter which brand to use? I have an opportunity to get a snow performance kit at a good price.

I don't know anything about snow, but I do know every builder/installer I've talked with says they will only use alky.

Use what everyone else uses.

You have a problem and come here and ask a question you will be 1 out 300 that has something different, not going to get much help.

Plus aren't the snow kits more geared toward the diesel truck market? Concept is the same but ask someone how to wire the Alky kit and get 50 answers, ask someone to a question on wiring a snow kit and get 50 questions "Why did you buy a snow kit"

Do you really want a fuel to be going through plastic hose with push on connectors that Snow uses?

No.

Alky control is simple and it works.

I like Alky Control for the pump and the controller, but I like Devils own for the Nozzles and the fittings.. The big bulky Alky control nozzles look like crap. Devils own offers a nice AN style fitting and their nozzles are really good.

I can tell you this... I started with a snow kit and completely hated it. The plastic hoses and pushin connections leak like crazy. I switched to an Alky kit and couldn't be happier.

Alky control makes a fantastic kit, I'm a DIY kind of guy and built a nice plate system that holds a stainless steel meth tank, 100% meth pump all stainless lines, twin nozzle, activated on psi and I have a psi transducer in line that sends a signal to my Dashlogic.

it is hidden the passenger fender well and I can fill the methh tank from the top and have visual excess, I'll post up some pics this weekend

Used almost all of them. Alky control is the most reliable, nicest kit with best support.

Other kits you will just spend a lot of money upgrading, and have a lack of support.

I'm using the AEM right now tied into the factory Windshield Washer tank and level sensor - which so far has worked great. It has the push lock plastic lines, and I haven't had any problems, but I only run straight water in it or the -20 degree blue stuff.

Maybe I'll look into the alky kit, but at the same time I have no desire to run straight meth, I don't need it for fueling, just as an anti-detonate in which case straight water works better.

Prometh is a really nice and clean install, plus they have a custom tank to fit in the rear driver side cubby.

I believe Snow systems expect you to only run 50/50 through them. I'm not sure if it matters, but around here, you'll find people doing 100% meth in their C7s.

My .02 cents.

I been running snow kits because they're cheap in price for the past 5 years or so. This whole push lock thing about the lines popping out is plausible but never has happened to me or to the other 4 kits I've installed. When done right the lines are very hard to pull out. Anyways when it comes to the pumps I feel that they're all coming from the same distributor and are just relabeled. In fact, I know for a fact that a HUGE! distributor of fast parts here sells relabled snow kits under their name for more $$$ Lastly, I only run 100% methanol in the pumps.

Roger
