Fix for broken spider gears!
have been waiting, waiting, waiting for the new wavetrac unit. if any of you are in the same boat and want to get rolling again, here is a solution. MAKE YOUR OWN SPOOL!!! WORKS LIKE A CHARM. NO MORE SPIDERS!

Man, we keep hearing this but it seems like the delivery continues to be extended. I'm hoping to do the swap before I break mine so I get credit for the OEM core to save some loot.

A spool ain't the friendliest thing to drive on the street, should that matter to anyone.

I have 2 broken differentials. I have another member trying to fab me up an extra set of spiders to have 4 total with a brace in the middle. I may try and get one back from him so I can have something that would work great at the track.

Thinking the same on this going really fast around a corner would hate it to start hopping on the one side. But I do like the looks of it and would be great for a 1/4 track r 1/2 mile run.

Would love to send you one of mine so you can do your thing if you would send me an address to send it to. I can't take mine to the track to enjoy bc first hard launch, I know I'll break my 3rd.

One of the main issues is that the cross pin is a large diameter resulting in a large hole in the pinion gears relative to previous years. There is not much material between the root of the gear and the hole in the middle. So they break. Smaller c5 style pins could be used with c5 spiders for a 4 pinion setup, and you would need to make 2 bushings to fit the smaller pin to the existing holes in the stock c7 carrier. Everyone follow here? Based on what I have seen a couple people do, and what I have done, this is the way.
I have not broken mine yet (a8), but I'm sure it's coming...

If you are ever caught in the rain, a spool could help end your (or someone else's) life. Making a turn from a stop in the rain would never be boring though. I have had them all, spools, lockers (no fun either), and every version of a positrac made. The 4 pinion spider setup is going to be best for us..

Now for a 90% track 1/4 r 1/8 mile this set up should work great for a lot of guys in here. Plus the price the guy is willing to get it done for you win win for sure. Robert
