After putting in Procharger with upright intercooler oil gets to 220 on long 50mph uphill in summer heat (90 degrees). When I get in driveway and rest at an idle oil pressure about 18 to 20 psi. Dealer put in 0-30 instead of 5-30 saying it would help. It did, gave me 1-2 more psi.
have heard about heat wraps for oil lines. Any one know about these, and maybe another oil cooler.?

i have 8 lbs boost, going to 10 lbs. 2014 Z51 M7. No track use, DD.

Rick

does anyone know how to deal with this issue?

220F is perfectly fine for oil temp, especially if that's only the max you see. And around 20 PSI is about right for idle pressure at that temp. As you have found adding a slightly more viscous oil also helps if you want to get oil pressure up a little.

I have a procharger on c7 z51 manual and track the car pretty hard. My oil temps were running around 260 so I put on oil line covers and they dropped the temp around 20 degrees to 240. I have heard that is not hard on synthetic oils at all.

You wouldn't catch me running 0w-30 in the summer (90*+). Drain that out and put a 0w-40 or 5w-40 full synthetic in there. After a few miles your pressure is gonna drop hard.

Redline 15W/50 will give you the extra protection and the temp will come down.

The oil line cover is from DEI and was listed for a Z06 but worked fine. I also bought their catalytic converter heat shield to help cool my trans fluid and it definitely worked.
