Default How much boost are you running on your stock internals?

I'm currently at 8, going to pulley down one to get another 1-2 psi. 9-10 psi isn’t too much for this stock engine I’m hoping? What are you running?

10 psi is no problem. I had 10 psi on stock internals for 20k miles before I built my motor.

I’m running 11, it’s an ECS 1500 , no restrictor plate, meth, headers, tuned by Doug. Just have to watch timing and fuel. Can’t run the timing like on an LS. I think I’ve had it for 2 years now. Would love one of those new aluminum intakes with port injection added. I have to talk to Doug and Chris !!

Boost #'s don't matter much. It's the power your engine is making that does matter. The more power you make, the riskier it is. Plain and simple.

This is accurate. No more than ~700-750 HP to the wheels before you risk blowing the motor

Like posted above boost numbers are irrelevant it’s just a measure of restriction. I make 18psi and 933 on my stock bottom end.

Do you have a catch can ? I'm about to install the same set trying to see if it's worth the extra $700

After almost three years experimenting with my C7 and the AA. What I can tell you is that there are several contributor factors for the engine longevity. In my experience if you control the intake air temperature, run the fuel system in the 2000 psi and good gasoline. Your stock pistons, transmission and clutch will be very safe at 600whp to 630 whp. My car has run several half miles events and it has 22k miles since the SC installation.

I also have tuned the ECS at various stage, including 8, 10 and 12.5 PSI and recently 12.5 psi + TSP cam. This particular was forged with wiseco before I begin working with it. But what I can tell you is that with forge pistons and upgraded clutch the engine and the M7 is holding over 700 whp.

Recently I did a non z51 with the A8 and the procharger and the stock converter did not last at 600 whp. I think it was a weak converter to begin with and it has nothing to do with the SC, nevertheless is part of my data.
