That is why i don't even bother with comp test.. Leak down test is the best for this issue..

How many miles?

What is the percentage of failures to non-failures?

I had 22K on my setup at 645rwhp and I go through meth like there was a leak in the bottom of the reservoir.

What other signs are there of this being an impending problem or does it just go BOOM.

I think beating on them HARD at a drag strip is obviously a factor. I am sure there are tons of blown LT1s out there that are dynoed with great numbers but aren’t run hard after that. Mine wasn’t babied.... I would keep it extemely conservative with stock pistons

1 nozzle, I think a 15.

From what was explained to me is less is more and no need to run more than 1 under 700rwhp.

Dr. Phil tuned my car and he got into a bit about it but that was what I took from it.

I ran two nozzles at 640whp. A 10 and a 15. Now I run two 15’s at 850whp

My lt1 Stingray was brand new with 1900 miles. Installed the S/c kit
rolled 618 rwhp on a dyno went to drive home. Got fuel had 800 miles to get home. First stop I saw oil coming up on the windshield from under hood Oil sprayed out the boost valve so bad and found the timing too hot and sold the car at a big loss.
