Default Help me with drag tire sizes for Z51

For the z51, from what I’ve seen so far it looks like 18x10.5 for the rear is the ideal wheel size? Are there any budget wheels that are light weight like the brand “drag”? What are some good websites that have good deals on wheels?

Now for the tires, I’m thinking 305 40 18? My car is lowered on stock bolts and I don’t want to Ave issues rubbing but I want it to look mean and as wide as possible without rubbing. Are ET STREET tires going to be the best for this? I will only use the setup for rare 1/4 mile track days. Are there better tires for drag racing? Tell me if I’m missing anything else. Would you put sensors in your drag setup or just deal with the dash light error? Thanks! Also my front tires are non run flats.

C5Z Replicas. They are 18x10.5. Run ET Street S/S tires in either the 285/40/18 or 305/35/18 sizes. Either will work fine.

Race Star wheels 18 x 10.5 with a 76 offset fit like a champ. They tuck really well. Most other wheels without a high offset will sit flush with the rear quarter. The drag stars sit inside the fender well like the oem wheel.

I happen to have a pair with the M/T SS 285's mounted for sale. Yes, they hook no problem.

Before you go buying one are the other tell us what rwhp you are at in the car now. Sometimes bigger is not always better. Robert

Currently at about 650 RWHP.. What will the diff be between going 285 and 315? I am kind of leaning towards doing the 285 for weight savings. I feel like it will be more then enough traction with the proper compound. The car actually does pretty well with the cheap all terrain tires it has but obviously not for the launch.

Do the 285 on the hp level man it should work better for you on getting a lower ET. Robert
