Default Post E-force install question

Hi all,

i recently installed the e-force stage 1 with edelbrock stock tune. After start-up I got a P2227 code. I researched and found this is a common problem when going NA to FI due to the MAP sensor not being compatible.

it was suggested to just disable this code in the tune as the easiest method to bypass it. I don't have access to the tune as it was provided by EB and the SCT X4 doesn't give that type of feature access.

My question is for those that have disabled this code, what programmer did you use? Does HPtuners or DiabloSport give me this access?

this is the only thing I want to do so looking to accomplish this using the most efficient manner and don't really want to swap in an LS9 MAP and have to pursue another retune.

thanks much and happy new year.

Why don’t you call Edelbrock tech for advice. I have an E force C7 that didn’t have any issues with the stock TMAP

Get HP Tuners MPVI module for $300 then you will need to buy 2 credits I believe which will be $50 each.
Once you have the tuner you can read the file on the car and make changes to Edelbrocks tune as needed.
Of course, depending on where you live it might be better to take it to a dyno since Edelbrocks tune is very conservative anyway. If you have the HP Tuner, you can have the trans tuned later with it also.
Once you read the tune that's on the car, return the car to stock with the SCT so you can sell it to offset some of the HP cost. Then read the stock file and save it so youll have it.

Thanks for the responses... I did reach out to edelbrock on Sunday but no reply yet. Perhaps a holiday thing delaying a response from them.

So just to close the loop here if anyone else experiences this situation in the future.

Edelbrock sent me another tune for a 2bar Map only. Appears the eforce kits went through some type of upgrade where they relocated the oem map.

The kit I purchased is older style that did not do this and was an early version.

If you have the eforce kit, the new map harness has 5 connectors and the early version only had 4.

this obviously required tune changes and that is what appears to have been my issue.

ive uploaded the correct tune now and driven it around and all appears to be well now.

heads up if you ever look at purchasing a eforce kit and going with edelbrock for your tune.

on a positive note, edelbrock was very helpful with resolving the issue so that was awesome.

Default E-Force 554 HP kit

I put an E-force 554 hp kit on my 2005. I haven't realized the power increase that I expected. I'm only using the base tune from Edelbrock. I went from 345 bhp to 408 bhp on the dyno. $10K for such little increase. Can I expect a bigger hp increase with a custom tune - how much more?

Someone please manage my expectations.
Thanks

I'd say yes, the edelbrock is just a canned tune that is a good starting point for their system. Odds are your car is not running optimally and should be looked at for adjustments. I'm trying to learn that same thing, M2C.
