The kit is used and missing the T filler fitting. Can I bypass this fitting and install an expansion tank instead? Or is T filler fitting necessary since it’s the highest point?

I wouldn't think that you'd need it. The Edelbrock kit that I had on my Stingray used an expansion tank and did not have a fill port up at the supercharger.
